🎯 Are we helping—or hurting—when we give our kids everything?
A lot of parents go out of their way to give their kids the very best—the latest cleats, their favorite brand-new gear, the newest phone... you name it. ❤️
And it all comes from a good place. We want our kids to feel happy, confident, and supported. But here’s something to think about:
When a child is used to getting everything without much effort, they can start expecting life—and success in soccer—to work the same way.
And soccer doesn’t play by those rules. ⚽
Progress on the field takes commitment, resilience, and the willingness to keep showing up—even when it’s hard or not exciting.
Sometimes, as parents, we confuse giving more with being more involved.
But real support often looks like showing up, setting limits, and teaching that effort matters—even when things come easy.
Kids growing up with comfort can absolutely succeed in sports.
But it helps when we also teach them discipline, patience, and that some things have to be earned—especially the meaningful stuff.
💡 One of the most valuable things we can tell them:
"I’ll always be here for you. But this—this is yours to work for."
So, are we giving our kids too much? Not if we pair our support with boundaries, guidance, and lessons about effort. Giving with love is powerful — but teaching them to work for what matters builds character that lasts far beyond the field.
💬 Have you ever struggled with where to draw the line?
