A Letter to the Soccer Coach Who Yells

Dear Coach, 🤝

I'm writing this not just as a soccer player, but as a kid who looks up to you and truly appreciates what you do. Thank you for all the time, energy, and heart you put into our practices and games. 🙏⚽

It’s clear you care deeply — you’re not just coaching us, you're shaping us. ❤️

But there’s something I want to ask — something that really matters to me:

Please, don’t yell at us. 📣🚫

When you yell, it shuts me down.

Not because I’m not trying — I am — but because it makes me feel anxious, confused, and unsure of myself.

And when that happens, I can’t play with the same joy and confidence I usually have. 😔

Imagine this: you're doing what you love — coaching. You’re out there, giving it your all, trying to lead and inspire.

And the whole time, someone is yelling at you.

Would that help you focus? Would it make you better — or make you want to give up?

It’s the same for us. We're not just athletes — we’re kids.

And kids grow best when they feel safe, supported, and trusted. 🌱

If you speak to us with kindness, belief, and encouragement, we’ll hear you — really hear you — and we’ll give you everything we’ve got.

With respect,

A kid who just wants to keep loving the game. ⚽❤️

👉 Share this with a coach who needs to see it. ❤️
